GREENGUARD Environmental Institute Recognizes Firestone Products

Firestone is pleased to announce that recent testing at Air Quality Sciences has resulted in a positive showing for three Firestone polyiso insulation products. RESISTA™, ISOGARD™ HD and ISO 95+ GL are now recognized by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute as resistant or highly resistant to mold growth based on independent testing using GREENGUARD test method GGTM.P040 for microbial resistance. This method, which meets the requirements of ASTM D6329, indicates the product’s resistance to mold growth at adverse conditions.

The test is conducted by inoculating the samples with spores of Penicillium brevicompactum and transferring to a static environmental chamber maintained at 95% relative humidity and 25°C (77°F). These samples are then incubated for three weeks to determine the susceptibility to the growth of mold. Once the samples are removed, they are ranked on a scale of 1 (highly susceptible to mold growth) to 4 (highly resistant to mold growth).

Firestone’s results are listed in the table below:

These results show Firestone’s continued commitment to environmentally safe products, proving yet again that “Nobody Covers You Better” than Firestone.
